Everyone’s favorite conference is back. As if we needed to tell you why the 2024 MAFSI Conference is going to be best one ever?  And, why would we limit it to only 5 reasons? The list can go on for pages and pages.  But who has time to read all of that?  Here’s a quick list of our favorite reasons to attend.

#5: Local is Global and Change is Happening!

The theme for the upcoming conference is Local Minds, Global Lines and this trend is evident all around us as the traditional foodservice barriers come crashing down.  Acquisitions are happening at a rapid pace and typical territory boundaries are blurred.  Beyond that, 2023 has left us with unprecedented challenges like staffing shortages and inflation.  MAFSI will tackle these hard-hitting topics head-on as we start 2024 with a fresh set of eyes.  You won’t want to miss the creative insights and strategies that are laid out for reps and manufacturers as we continue to face the melding of local to global.

#4: Golf >>>>Pickeball

We all know the MAFSI golf outing is a great event that’s not to be missed.  And if you didn’t catch it before reading this, the golf outing is NOW HAPPENING IN ADVANCE OF THE CONFERENCE to accommodate everyone’s schedule and start the competitive networking right out of the gate on Sunday, January 21st.  Fore!

But, added for the conference in 2024 is a MAFSI Pickleball Tournament.  Join us for a competitive, fun, and fast paced, tourney in America’s newest favorite sport!   Never played before? It’s time to start paddling to greatness and working on your game skills!  Think you’re already championship material?  Be ready to face members of the MAFSI Board of Directors who have been in intense training for over a year.

#3: The speaker line up is off the charts!

Ever wonder what an Iron Chef judge would speak to MAFSI members about? And, not just any Iron Chef judge, this is Donatella Arpaia, literally raised in restaurants, she speaks the language of the foodservice industry like no other.  And, once again, we lean on our fiercely accurate economist, Alan Beaulieu for his updated market outlook and forecast.  We will hear about the Kogi movement and what that means for us from Roy Choi. And, in addition to these heavy hitters, there are a series of other speakers and topics, many centered around burnout, stress and mental health awareness, including from our industry’s own, beloved, Jason Wange.

#2: It’s Winter…in CALIFORNIA

It’s happening in southern California at the beautiful, luxurious, and accommodating, La Quinta Resort and Club in gorgeous Palm Springs.  This January, we return to one of our favorite host properties, nestled on the edge of the Coachella Valley with excellent views of the San Jacinto, San Bernadino and Santa Rosa Mountains.  The mornings are cool, perfect for a morning jog. The days are mild and filled with sunshine, followed by warm evenings that cool off into perfect fire pit weather.  Grab a glass of wine and meet us there for a fireside chat!

#1: People, people, people!

Enough said. This industry thrives on its people, relationships, and partnerships.  This is the conference where it all comes together, and we get to spend time with the industry people we love.  The networking is next-level and is by far the number one reason to attend the MAFSI Conference in January.  You can only get it here.  See more, and be more, at MAFSI’s biennial conference.
